How can I sue a corporation and the owner, to cover all areas, to get my money back?

If I sue the corporation (which is just the owner & his partner), they have no money and I win nothing (others have done it already, so I know I won't win--there are no ets, no money), and if I sue just the owners individually, I can't win either because the check was made out to the company and the law in Tennessee protects llc corporations. How do I win? Thanks
